The property was built in 1990 and operated as a Super 8 Motel for several years.

The Location

Rhinelander is a bustling community located in northern Wisconsin. The hotel is located along U.S. Highway 8, a major corridor across the state’s popular northern recreation area. Rhinelander has a population around 7,600 and serves as the county seat and commercial center for Oneida County. Other popular resort towns in the area are Minocqua and Eagle River. Much of the county is covered by national forests and more than 400 lakes that provide year round recreational activities. The hotel lies approximately 133 miles from Green Bay, 240 miles from Minneapolis and 330 miles from Chicago.

Rhinelander and Oneida County lie in the heart of Wisconsin’s northlands, with over 1,200 square miles of pristine forest sprinkled with 1,100 lakes. Rhinelander is the county seat and commercial center for a surrounding population of 20,000. Its two largest industries are paper making and recreation.

Oneida County is well known for its wide variety of recreational and cultural opportunities. A state forest covers 225,000 acres of this and two adjacent counties, that has 400 miles of snowmobile trails, 70 miles of cross-country ski trails, and 32 miles of biking trails. Another 80,000 acres of forest and recreation areas offer another 340 miles of snow mobile trails. There are over 400 lakes and 50streams that provide for excellent fishing, and hunting is excellent in the area.
